In June-July 2019 the MISTO AVILEAN! team in Romania visited eight schools and met with 35 specialists in education (school principals, teachers, school masters, minority inspectors) from 3 counties (Dolj, Olt, Gorj) in Romania.
The specialists offered us details about the difficulties that Roma children face in the process of school integration, especially in the context of their parents’ temporary migration abroad. We found out about specific problems, solutions, success stories and innovative work methods that motivate and promote Roma children in the education system.
The schools we visited are from Dolj county - Inspectoratul Școlar Județean Dolj, Școala Gimnazială „Lascăr Catargiu” Craiova, Școala Gimnazială „Anton Pann” Craiova, Școala Gimnazială Scăiești, com.
