On the 28 th and 29th of October 2019, Fundación Secretariado Gitano in Madrid hosted the transnational meeting of partners in the MISTO AVILEAN project.
Four partners in the project were represented at the meeting: Terre des hommes from Romania, Fundación Secretariado Gitano from Spain, AFEJI from France and Terre des hommes Europe from Hungary.
A total of 10 experts from four countries (Romania, France, Spain and Hungary) have met to set the Transnational mechanism of cooperation between schools, to discuss its content, functioning procedures and forms, advantages and limitations.
Partners presented the results of the two researches carried out during the summer of 2019: the Research on Obstacles in the integration of Roma children in schools from Romania, France and Spain and the Teachers’ Need assessment for non-disruptive and non-discriminatory education of Roma children in international migration.
The Transnational cooperation mechanism was also presented and discussed, namely the projects’ requirements, indicators and outputs, the draft proposal for answering the projects’ requirements and the needs of the target groups. A set of working instruments was presented to the participants as working tools within the Transnational cooperation mechanism, among which were the webpage design and the Collaboration protocol with schools to be involved in the project.
A preview of the online version of the Transnational cooperation mechanism was shown. The team planned activities for the MISTO AVILEAN! project, namely the Capacity building program, the Child-led campaign and the Advocacy campaigns.
One special opportunity for advocacy was introduced by Fundación Secretariado Gitano, who suggested to the participants to elaborate and send a letter from the Consortium (Terre des hommes Foundation, Fundación Secretariado Gitano in Spain and Afeji in France) to the Open consultation on EU post 2020 framework. The letter was elaborated and sent the following days (October 31st), as MISTO AVILEAN proposal for Open consultation on EU post 2020 framework.
